(American 1880-1955) George Seeley was an important member of the circle of photographers that formed around Stieglitz during the time of the Photo-Secession. Influenced early in his career by the work of F. Holland Day, Seeley’s contribution is ranked with Stieglitz, Steichen, Kasebier, Eugene, Coburn and White. Seeley’s most active period, from 1904 to 1912, coincided with his employment in the Stockbridge public schools as art teacher and supervisor of drawing.
